BALSAWOOD DUST COLLECTOR
This is something I came up
with after I saw an article using a fan and a filter to collect balsa dust,
but I felt this would work better for me. It is a 4"x 4"x 52" long PVC fence
post I got from one of the
home improvement stores. the ends are plugged with 3/4" pine. One end has a hole
in it to accept my
shop vacuum hose. The top has a series of 5/16" diameter holes for the full
length. The whole thing is
mounted flush with the top of the table where I do most of my sanding. Now the
balsa dust is drawn
down and into the shop vacuum instead of floating up into my
face. It works very well and it didn't
cost very much.
