Battery - State of Charge

Thanks to NOEL HUNT for this one.

If you fly electric, you usually have more than one battery for a plane.  Ever look at one of your batteries and wonder if it has been charged or not? Here's a cheap, but effective way to identify if your batteries have been charged:  Keep a handful of elastic bands with your charger.  As soon as you disconnect the battery from the charger, slip an elastic band around it.  When it is time to fly, remove the elastic band before you insert the battery into the aircraft.  Store it with your charger again.  Go and fly.  Now if you see a battery with an elastic band, it has been charged.  If there is no elastic band, it is not fully charged.  (See photo)
